Regarding The Middle East Selection tournament, it was held On March 7, 2009 at 5:00pm at the Unesco Palace Theater-Beirut, under the patronage and presence of the General Director of the Ministry of Education, the representative of the general Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Japanese Embassy and many political, social and sports personalities.
There were 27 competitors representing the following countries: Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait,Lebanon and P.L.O.
-Heavy weight:
-1st place: Salah Zein El Abidin (Lebanon)
-2nd place: Issam Samara (Jordan)
-3rd place: Ali Sheaib (Lebanon)
-Middle weight:
-1st place: Mohamad Harake (Lebanon)
-2nd place: Youssef Hamdan (Lebanon)
-3rd place: Mashaal Al Garhan (Kuwait)
-Light weight:
-1st place: Ayad Khafaja (Iraq)
-2nd place: Fouad Harb (Lebanon)
-3rd place: Ali Abdallah Mohamad (Iraq)
